The National Academy for State Health Policy has put together an excellent article outlining the importance of addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have in many ways exacerbated negative experiences in the lives of these, our most valuable and vulnerable citizens. Read the article here.
One of the main points made is that screening for ACEs is the first step in identifying and healing from trauma. eTransX’ Wellbeing Care Community (WCC) was designed with this very thing in mind! Using proven assessments built into the system, organizations can engage local schools and community centers to begin the work of discovering individuals’ needs. From there, a Personal Success Pathway can be established to best address each particular child’s wellbeing concerns. Whether using the built-in community directory or directly engaging with partners via our community partner referral system, groups can now take real action to help recognize and recover from childhood trauma, and achieve personal success.
The article goes on to share some ways that different states are tackling these issues. What is clear is that there is a strong need for a powerful, comprehensive technology platform that can be used across large areas and populations to help confront negative life experiences and support the physical, social, and economic health of a community. Thankfully communities across the country are receiving millions in COVID relief and rebuilding money to enact solutions exactly like this!
There are many other reasons the Wellbeing Care Community may be the ideal solution for uniting your area’s community-based organizations, local government/leadership, charities, social services, and other related entities in working together to support your community’s health and resilience.
