Division of US Department of Transportation awards multi-year
contract for IT support services to eTransX, Inc.
Cambridge, MA. – August 23, 2005
The Federal Services Division of eTransX,
headquartered in Brentwood, TN recently won a multi-year, multi-million dollar
contract to provide on-site network engineering and system administration IT
support services to the US Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Volpe
National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, MA.
The Volpe Center is an organization within the Research and Special Programs
Administration of the USDOT. In partnership with sponsoring organizations, the
Volpe Center provides a broad range of technical research, analysis, and
development services to the USDOT and other Federal agencies in support of their
transportation and logistics related missions. In any given year, the Volpe Center
manages over 300 projects that vary in scope and substance. To meet their
staffing requirements, they employ a strategy that utilizes a combination of federal
and contract employees to meet the broad range of skills needed to support these
projects.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is one of the agencies within the
USDOT that relies on the Volpe Center to manage technology projects. Over the
past year, eTransX employees managed many aspects of IT infrastructure for the
FAA at Volpe Center. As a testament to eTransX’s quality work and commitment
to customer satisfaction, the Volpe Center chose to extend the relationship with the
award of this multi-year contract.
